The obscure logic hides behind my eyelids,allowing me to give respect to the situation.But when my eyes open, when I see you.. logic dissipates and is replaced with incredulity. And my once pounding heart aches to a different rhythm
No weaning process, it was abrupt and cold. Yet my heart lingers around you still…This geometrical drama is still foreign to me. But your decision has been made- leaving me no choice but to respect the option I feared..
However that realization doesn't lessen this ache
Feeling like fortunes fool.. I should have known it was too good to be true
The familiarity of this pain does not excuse the prescience of it's aching confusion. I'm in a race with an undeserving opponent with a fluctuating heart- fickle and uncommitted- fighting for a trophy that is worth more than gold!
How could I have lost to one so unworthy? …But I would have willingly forfeited for your happiness, if only I'd known…and now that I do, I won't get in your way...
I attest to your strength, but why unsheathe your wounded heart to the bearer of the knife you pulled out? Ignorant that you deserve the stars but settle for the familiarity of shiny pebbles... I only wish for your happiness....
